AI search: getting found when people ask a chatbot

What changes when people ask ChatGPT or Google's AI instead of searching, and what a small site can do about it. Tested on a real site.

Making something specific?

More people now ask a chatbot before they search. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI answers pull from pages they can read, and they cite some of them. On the case-study site, chatgpt.com already sends more visitors than Instagram.

This hub collects what I've tested about that: which crawlers read your site, what llms.txt does and doesn't do, and what Search Console now tells you about AI answers.

None of it replaces classic SEO. AI answers lean on the same pages that rank; they just seem less picky about how big the site behind them is.
